AboutRDCTaught and practiced by the same people.
Rockaway Design Consulting began as a network: designers, art directors and studio heads working across cities and disciplines, passing work and students to one another. Designers from Parsons School of Design gave it a structure and a purpose: to share what the arts and fashion industries know with the people entering them.
The premise has not changed: the people best positioned to teach a discipline are the ones still practicing it, and what they teach is tested in their own work.
One group, two roles: practitioners at studios, labels and schools, who mentor in the Academy and consult for the Atelier. Every student and every brand works with them directly.

Around them: the designers, artists and specialists RDC calls on as the work requires.

Students work one to one with mentors active in the fields they are entering. The open programs welcome any student; Les Protégés, a selected cohort admitted by application, follows a longer arc of work into live briefs with the Atelier’s partners.

The Atelier works with brands across design and the arts, from their foundation to their campaigns. Each brand is matched with consultants and the specialists its brief calls for.
